2003-03-13 - 11:43 pm I bought yet another typewriter today while out with Andy, this time it was only five dollars. So far I'm not having any luck finding a ribbon for it but a helpful guy at Staples downtown is going to call around for me to see if he can get some brought in. The typewriter I bought a few weeks ago that I haven't been able to find a ribbon for will become some mangled piece of sculpture or a mobile for the back yard. Once the snow melts I'll bash the shit out of it Office Space-style. It will rule. I'm so determined to have a typewriter of my own. It seems so silly to want something so technologically archaic when I have a computer, but I have these fantasies of writing the most amazing things with a typewriter. That this old fashioned instrument will have a power over my writing that nothing else has before. True, I'm romanticising the entire thing but that's alright. That's what being a writer is about. But maybe it's the weather we had today: mild and even sunny. All the snow has been melting and people seem happier. I've had a spring in my step ever since last night and even though I'm a little tuckered out right now, I feel better than I have in a very long time. It's amazing what a change in temperature can do to a person. Blah. Anyway. I'm exhausted and have nothing more to say for the night. At least I'm keeping up the habit of updating almost every day - that has to be good for something.
