Wednesday wearing MY t-shirt.
Highlights of tonight:
- Seeing Wednesday wearing a t-shirt that was MINE in grade NINE that I bought at Value Village and gave away to Goodwill this year during one of my infamous closet guttings. This is the exact shirt I owned and it is extremely creepy that she has it now. I think this is even more proof that we are the exact same fucking person.
- Parking the car in a seedy part of downtown where there were hookers on adjacent corners and creepy men hanging around the train tracks. If it wasn't so sunny out then I would have been very scared.
- Being cramped in a small gallery space (the Stride Gallery on Macleod Trail North) watching art films that involved a series of puppets. It was my first outside-of-school art experience and it was g-r-a-n-d. Calgary is an awesome city for art if you know where to look.
- Walking around Confederation Park only to see my dad ride by on my brother's bike. He had come down all the way from home on the bike (about a fifteen minute drive) and later told me that he rode it all the way to Chinatown and back (holy crap!). He came home with dirt on his face and blood on his teeth from shielding bugs with his mouth.
- And lastly, the very fact that we managed to make plans in fifteen minutes and execute them. Monday night we're going to a seedy bar to watch a "battle of the bands" thing and next Friday we're going to a screening of The 5000 Fingers of Dr. T.
Christ, this is really turning out to be a busy week/end. June is shaping up to be quite hectic, but in the best way possible. This weekend I work, and work, and work. I don't have a day off until Tuesday (ah!) but I'm looking forward to the huge paycheck I'll be receiving two weeks from now because of all this overtime.
