2003-05-27 - 7:08 pm There are two robin nests underneath the back patio. Two robins have dominated the backyard, chasing away every other bird in an over-protective manner. There are probably eggs in each nest but I haven't looked yet. I watched the birds flutter around the yard while I lay stretched on a quilt on the new grass. This afternoon, there was a dead bird curled fetal on a bench at The Ship. Andy and I looked at it sorrowfully from a table across the way. A man came by and sat down, obviously not noticing the bird, and crushed its head. The man was sitting on that poor dead bird for about a half hour at least. When he got up and noticed what he was sitting on there was disgust on his face but he continued as if nothing happened. A waitress came by and picked the body up with two napkins and disposed of it, leaving a small streak of blood on the wood. It's amazing how fragile life is. I think this is a sign that I should go ahead with my next tattoo. All I need is the perfect design and I'll be set. Two sparrows flying toward each other on opposite sides of my lower back. Black and white line drawing, much like the lily Matthew designed for me two years ago. If he weren't so busy I'd even consider asking him if he'd design this for me but I know how hectic the life of an art student can be. I was fortunate enough to have him design the one I currently have so I should just count my lucky stars. I'll get one of the VC kids in September to do it for me and in return I will buy them a beer and make them a handbag. I'm meeting up with Carly in about an hour or so in an effort to stay away from this house as much as possible. I'm moody and suseptiable to sensitivity. This house makes things worse for everyone around me when I'm like this. I'm all too aware of this. Later on, I'll make the skirt I have been designing since last week. Extreme A-line in cream canvas with thin black pinstripes and paisely strip at the top. It will be sheek and I will be happy. In the meantime I'll live off the reminants of the pint I had an hour or so ago. Bless this body and its low alcohol tolerance.
